Old Times 03:53
mirror mirror, i've been misled i think i see the past running straight ahead won't do a thing if i turn around 'cause what i left behind me is all that can be found looks like old times comin' back again looks like old times are takin' over everything it seems like no matter what i've got at stake i'm bound to make all the same mistakes that led me here to rack and ruin i just can't help it, feels so right to be wrong doin' looks like old times comin' back again looks like old times are takin' over everything time don't seem to care that i'm stuck in this refrain but deep down i guess i don't mind 'cause i'll do it all over again get on back where you come from old times

should i believe when you tell me you wanna call me a friend and if i do, will you turn around and never see me again or if i do you a favour will you turn around and knock me flat you say it's "kill or be killed, man" but i don't see you gettin' attacked it's hypocritical brother i know, 'cause i've been there too say one thing and do another it ain't no way to be cool now, i'm ashamed to admit some things i've done in the past i've had a hand in one to many a goddamn shameful act but i've been makin' changes and i've still got a ways to go i've gotta try to be the real deal instead of puttin' on a show it's hypocritical brother i know, 'cause i've been there too say one thing and do another it ain't no way to be cool you wanna be hip? don't be hypocritical you gotta change the tip flip the atypical it's hypocritical brother i know, 'cause i've been there too say one thing and do another it ain't no way to be cool

some folks 'round here might put a lot of stock in what you do and say but these are the same fine folks who are happy to hear the same old song each and every day and you - you're so content to strut around like the master of all you survey but you ain't the king of anything when you're wearing the crown in a town full of clowns you're only keepin' it where it's at right now you probably feel you can get away with anything you choose but once you step outside your door you might find the same old same old just won't do 'cause only a fool believes he's made it without ever payin' his dues get of your rut and dig your own groove then you'll get yourself a new point of view instead of keepin' it where it's at yeah, you're gonna fall flat on your face yeah they're gonna sting you and put you in your place but if you can ride it out with a little bit of grace that's the time that you get into the race keepin' it where it's at

Discontent 02:50
there are those who say we'll find success where we find our happiness though that might be true for most of you win or lose, i still remain discontent - i feel it growing everyday discontent - i've got no right to feel this way i feel lonely even though i've got people who would do anything for me they try to impart a brighter perspective but my joy is obscured discontent - i feel it growing, every day discontent - i've got no right to feel this way discontent - i've got no reason, i feel ashamed discontent - i've got no right to feel this way it ain't for lack of love or money it ain't prestige or even pride it's just a shutter on the window pane let in some light don't i deserve? oh let me feel some happiness - it's my time, it's my time happiness - we all deserve a little joy in our lives
5.
First Day 04:30
every day i feel the danger everywhere i see the strife of those who have and those who don't grabbing for the same slice let me paint you a picture a little warning sign of a people caught up in the snares of their own design if you change - rearrange - redefine today could be the first day of your life tell me the truth: are you hungry tell me exactly what you need even a hand to mouth existence ain't exactly guaranteed if we keep on looking forward while taking steps behind but there's a ways and there's a means to get re-degnified if you change - rearrange - redefine today could be the first day of your life today is the first day of my life
6.
no matter where you've been or where you're going people will make their way into your mind some will mend you and some will rend you but all will touch your life in their own way if you wanna sit down and cry go ahead - sit down and cry but the time will soon arrive when we gotta say goodbye to another piece of our lives now i know it ain't like you just throw your heart into anything to and fro but sometimes it's the other way around and you'll be the one who's go so when you've got 'em hold on to them fast and close 'cause somewhere in time there's a land mine and everything you know is gonna go up in smoke by my mother - neglected by my father - rejected by my brother - detested but i can't get too invested in keeping those people close to me i've done my crying and decided just to let them be and now my tears are history if you wanna sit down and cry go ahead - sit down and cry but the time will soon arrive when we gotta say goodbye to another piece of our lives say goodbye - another piece of our lives
